PROFILE

The business analyst (Finance Reporting & analytics) has finance expertise that guarantees that reporting and analytics are correct and meaningful. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

Analyze and clarify financial reporting needs. 

Define and validate KPIs and financial structures (GL, cost centers, allocations, etc.). 

Ensure the functional correctness of reports, dashboards and calculations. 

Acting as a sparring partner for data engineers and architects on finance topics. 

Avoid rework by aligning expectations early. 

 

 

EXPERIENCE

Extensive experience in a finance, controlling or reporting position in a comparable organization. 

Familiar with the financial processes and reporting cycle of UZ Gent (or a comparable hospital/public context). 

Experience working alongside IT and data teams in reporting or implementation projects. 

 

SKILLS

Strong functional finance knowledge: GL, cost centers, allocations, budgeting, reporting structures. 

Defining and validating KPIs and financial calculations. 

Able to explain finance concepts clearly to technical teams. 

Can critically read reports, dashboards and datasets and sign off functionally. 

 

CHARACTER TRAITS

Accurate and detail-oriented: figures must be correct. 

Advisory and sparring-oriented, not executive-technical. 

Strong communication skills, also towards non-finance profiles. 

Constructive and solution-oriented in discussions about finance topics.
