About the Mission

Who are we? The National Lottery celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2024 and remains true to its historical model to this day: many players, with moderate stakes, a naturally responsible range of iconic and traditional games and a strong involvement of all Belgians, especially thanks to the support of various charities. The National Lottery got lucky… and was ready: 1.666 billion euros in stakes in 2025 – a record level! Being ready’ is primarily a matter of capacity. In concrete terms, this means that we must be able to accommodate very high peaks of activity, up to 5,000 participations per minute at any given time. This capacity is based on a solid ecosystem: a dense network of points of sale, a growing online presence (mainly mobile) and an app that has become a reflex for many players. The connection between retail and digital has been strengthened by very concrete actions that have now become permanent habits: consulting, scanning, purchasing, checking. In addition to the most important games such as EuroMillions – the most played game in 2025 with 67.3 million game moments (across all channels) – and the renewed Lotto with the dream home that can be won once a month on the last Saturday of the month, this dynamic also continues in the rest of the offer. The instant lottery games are reconfirming their popularity, continuing to grow and contributing to the overall sustainable growth. Finally, the fourth pillar is also confirmed: the other traditional drawing games. These continue to perform well and strengthen the balance in the National Lottery’s range of games. This record year confirms the power of the ‘hybrid’ model, in which the local network and the digital world reinforce each other. The retail channel remains the largest: €1,172 M sales in 2025 (+2.8%), i.e. 70.3% of stakes in 6,748 points of sale. Online sales continue to grow: €494 M (+19.6%), i.e. 29.7% of bets, with an emphasis on mobile use (76.2% via the app). “We have grown into one of the largest e-commerce ecosystems in the country. And yet our great strength remains the same: a lottery of proximity, both physically and online,” says Jannie Haek, CEO of the National Lottery.
