Mission context
As part of STIB’s SAP transformation and post-migration stabilization to SAP S/4HANA, several technical projects must be framed, planned and executed in order to modernize the SAP architecture, reduce technical debt and secure the future foundations of the SAP ecosystem.
These projects concern in particular:
the migration of SAP PI/PO interfaces to SAP CPI / Integration Suite;
the migration or modernization of the Fiori Launchpad to a target based on SAP BTP;
management and monitoring of LCP / Landscape, Connectivity & Platform topics;
technical adaptations linked to the RISE / ECS environment;
coordination of technical impacts between SAP, satellite applications, external partners and internal STIB teams;
the preparation ration of the transition to RUN and AMS.
The Project Manager will join the Business Solutions department and report to the Build & Transform Manager. He will work in close collaboration with the SAP, architecture, infrastructure, security, AMS teams, partners, as well as business managers when technical projects have a functional or operational impact.
Mission objective
The Project Manager will be responsible for supporting a portfolio of SAP technical projects aimed at modernizing, securing and rationalizing STIB’s SAP environment.
In particular, he will have to manage:
the framing of technical projects;
planning activities;
coordination between internal and external teams;
managing dependencies with business projects and SAP environments;
budget monitoring;
preparation of arbitrations;
risk management;
project governance;
the transition to operational support.
The mission requires a strong ability to understand SAP technical subjects without necessarily being an SAP architect, but with sufficient perspective to challenge schedules, identify dependencies, structure decisions and secure execution.
Function description
1. Framing and structuring SAP technical projects
The Project Manager must:
resume the SAP technical initiatives already identified;
clarify the objectives, scope, deliverables and constraints of each project;
structure projects into clear work packages;
define schedules, milestones, dependencies and estimated costs;
identify the technical, organizational, contractual and budgetary prerequisites;
prepare launch and decision files;
ensure alignment with the overall SAP roadmap.
Projects may include:
SAP PI/PO to SAP CPI / Integration Suite;
Fiori Launchpad to SAP BTP / Work Zone / Launchpad Service;
post-S/4 technical adaptations;
SAP connectivity;
c certificates, endpoints, security, authentication, authorizations;
rationalization or migration of interfaces;
monitoring of SAP environments: DEV, TEST, QAS, PRD;
technical topics related to RISE / ECS;
preparation for decommissioning of old components.
2. Managing the PI/PO to CPI migration
For the integration stream, the PM must coordinate:
inventory of existing interfaces;
the categorization of flows: critical, non-critical, obsolete, to be adapted, to be migrated;
dependency analysis with SAP S/4, satellite applications and external partners;
defining the migration strategy;
prioritization of interfaces;
coordination of technical analyses;
planning developments, unit tests, integration tests and cutovers;
preparation of RUN support and documentation;
monitoring risks related to operational continuity.
The PM must be able to challenge estimates, migration hypotheses and impacts on the s consuming or emitting applications.
3. Management of the Fiori Launchpad construction site
For the Fiori / BTP stream, the PM must manage:
the analysis of the existing Fiori;
identification of used, critical or obsolete applications;
defining the technical target with the architects;
coordination with SAP Security, IAM, infrastructure and workplace teams;
analysis of impacts on users;
the migration or redeployment strategy;
access, role, navigation, performance and compatibility tests;
preparation for go-live and communication;
the transition to RUN teams.
The PM must pay particular attention to the impacts of user experience, security, authentication, SAP roles and dependencies with business applications.
4. Coordination of LCPs / cross-functional technical subjects
The Project Manager will also have to take charge of cross-functional technical subjects linked to the SAP landscape, has connectivity and the platform.
This may include:
coordination with SAP ECS / RISE;
tracking connectivity topics;
certificates, reverse proxy, Web Dispatcher, firewall, ports, DNS;
SAP environments and dependencies between systems;
topics of performance, availability, monitoring and resilience;
technical impacts of SAP changes on connected applications;
monitoring of actions with suppliers;
management of technical escalations;
documentation of decisions and risks.
5. Governance, reporting and arbitrations
The Project Manager must:
establish clear project governance;
organize and lead monitoring committees;
prepare decision supports;
ensure reporting to IT management;
track risks, actions, decisions and dependencies;
produce a consolidated vision of the SAP technical portfolio;
alert in the event of planning, budget, scope or resource drift;
prepare the necessary arbitrations with the architecture and security teams rity, AMS and management.
Reporting should be clear, factual and decision-oriented, with an ability to synthesize complex technical topics for non-technical audiences.
6. Preparation of RUN and AMS
The PM must ensure that each SAP technical project properly prepares its operational transition:
technical and functional documentation;
support procedures;
monitoring model;
transfer to AMS;
clarification of internal/external responsibilities;
management of access and authorizations;
hypercare support;
rollback or continuity plan if necessary.
Profile sought
The candidate must have solid experience in SAP technical project management, ideally in the context of S/4HANA transformation, SAP BTP, application integration or architecture migration.
