About the Mission

The Department of Care is looking for an experienced Application Architect / Senior .NET Developer for the further development and modernization of the internally developed e-desk of the Department of Care. The e-counter offers citizens and organizations a central online platform for applying for and following up on files, such as permits, accreditations, subsidies, notifications and registrations. For user and access management, the platform uses basic services from the eHealth platform. The candidate will be deployed within the entire software development process and will take responsibility for complex implementations and integrations. In addition, he/she supports other developers with technical issues and monitors the technical quality of the solution. The responsibilities include: Developing the high-level technical design of the application and/or infrastructure; Drafting the low-level technical design and technical guidelines for developers; Supporting developers with complex technical implementations; Monitoring the quality, maintainability and performance of the software; Participate in modernization and migration processes of existing applications.  Wanted profile: The candidate has extensive experience as a full-stack .NET developer and has a strong technical background in application architecture and modernization processes. Required technical knowledge and experience: At least 7 years of experience as a full-stack .NET developer; Demonstrable experience with ASP.NET MVC; Experience with .NET Core; Experience with React and/or Angular; Experience with technical application migrations and modernization processes; Experience with Azure DevOps; Experience with Git version control; Experience with communication platforms and integrations (SOAP and REST); Experience with databases and SQL; Experience with security and secure application development; Experience with basic services of the eHealth platform; Experience with e-counter applications within a government context.  Language skills: Dutch: native language level.  Practical information: Start date: as soon as possible; End date: end of 2026, with possibility of extension in periods of 3 months; Deployment: full-time; Place of employment: Department of Care – Belpaire building, Simon Bolivarlaan 17, 1000 Brussels.
