About the Mission

RVA is looking to strengthen its data office with a senior data & cloud architect. The position sought reports directly to the CDO and will have to include a set of data tracks within RVA. More specifically, the following task package is provided: Data architecture Management of tech roadmap and framework for data storage, integration, and internal and external data flows (both on-prem and cloud) Data architecture and guidelines regarding Java and Cobol applications for storage and organization of data as well as determining strategy in the transition from Cobol to Java Drawing up data architectures and determining guidelines for the domains of data mining and statistics Advisor PowerData tooling (dbt, Python, data integration) Lead Python Center of Excellence and Python quality reporting Lead modern Data Platform projectDesign & ImplementationProject Management/Product Owner Knowledge sharing with and from other federal agencies Guaranteeing conformity according to the IVC deliberation IVC/KSZG/24/114 Other responsibilities Point of contact on IVC deliberation IVC/KSZG/24/114 internally in function of data Advice for Microsoft Copilot in function of security & data Close collaboration with the enterprise architect to align the data architecture and enterprise architecture Secrets Management Advisor IAM Board member internal Cloud Center of Excellence Participation in Federal Taskforce for Public Cloud Demonstrable experience of at least 6 years is required in data management, AI and Azure Cloud. For the position sought, demonstrable experience of at least 3 years in leading a team is also expected, as well as demonstrable and recent experience in project management. In addition, demonstrable experience with terraforms, kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines is required. The position sought also requires demonstrable and recent experience in designing and implementing data cloud architectures, as well as the experience in supporting them operationally.
