ABOUT US The Environment Department is actively committed to the implementation of climate adaptation policy and the necessary spatial transformations in the Dender Valley through the area-oriented program T.OP Dender. The Strategic Plan Space for Water Dendervallei (https://ruimtevoorwater.be) lays down various actions to provide sustainable solutions to flooding in the built-up Dendervallei and at the same time create spatial and social added value. The Environment Department is looking for a spatial planner to help realize this.  CONTACT For information and questions, please contact hfb@pro-unity.com FUNCTION As a spatial planner, you are partly responsible for drawing up regional spatial implementation plans. In these planning processes, the theme of construction shift is pertinent and the focus is largely on the necessary climate adaptive measures.  Support formation and participation are integrally linked to these planning processes. The T.OP Dender operation has a structural partnership in the area on which you can build further, including cooperation with the municipalities involved, the province of East Flanders, De Vlaamse Waterweg nv, the Agency for Nature and Forests, the Flemish Environmental Agency, etc. Requirements Education: You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a spatial field, such as spatial planner, urban planner, urban planning engineer, (landscape) architect, geographer, or equivalent through experience. Software skills: You are proficient in using QGIS, and experience with other relevant software is a plus. Team player: You have a strong sense of team and are able to collaborate with various stakeholders within the spatial domain. Analytical skills: Familiarity with supra-local analyzes and scenario building, and the ability to accurately assess how these influence local interventions.
